A Brief History
Our firm has a long history that dates back many years through-out the Otago region. Below is just a brief recent history of our family’s ties to the city.
Albert Alloo & Sons first Partner was the current Partners’ Grandfather, Albert Peacock Alloo. Albert Peacock Alloo entered sole practice in the 1930s; his sons Peter Alloo and Lawrence Alloo joined him in Partnership and established the firm Albert Alloo & Sons. The current Partners are Peter’s sons, Albert Alloo and Howard Alloo.
Albert Alloo & Sons is truly a family firm with three generations of lawyers practicing in Dunedin.
Albert was born in 1959 and was educated at Roslyn Kindergarten, John McGlashan College, Otago Boys High School, and Otago University. Albert has spent most of his working life in Dunedin but gained valuable professional experience working in a West End firm in London before returning home to the family practice. Albert’s eldest son, Nicolas is in his final year of law studies at Otago University whilst his youngest daughter, Amira is entering her third year of law studies at Otago University.
Howard was born in 1963 and was educated at John McGlashan College, Arthur Street School, Balmacewan Intermediate, Otago Boys High School, and Otago University graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 1985. Before returning to work at the family firm, he practiced in the North Island.
